A faucet with knob handles has stems that turn in the same direction to turn water on and off; counter clockwise to turn on, clockwise to turn off. If lever handles are replacing standard knob handles, the cold side stem will also have to be replaced in order for the new handles to operate properly by turning in to turn on the water and turning out to turn the water off.
All phoenix aerators are interchangeable. Choose metal in chrome or polished brass, or plastic in white or black. Handles on all two handle faucets are interchangeable. Some may require changing the cold side stem.
Single handle cartridges: field proven trouble free operation, manufactured to maintain performance reliability in all temperatures, large water entry ports resist clogging, smooth action low psi handles operation meets ADA requirements.
Two handle faucets with standard acrylic handles use the same stem assembly for the hot and cold sides. A right hand stem and bonnet that opens when the handle is turned counter clockwise (left) and closes in a clockwise (right) direction.
Two handle faucets with lever handles are designed to open when you pull the levers toward you and to close when you push the levers back. Therfore, these faucets use a right hand stem and bonnet on the hot water side, and a left hand stem and bonnet on the cold water side. We know that seems backwards, but that's how it's done.
